Nighat Akbar Shah is a renowned women’s champion, public speaker, and producer dedicated to bringing social issues to the forefront through impactful storytelling. Her commitment to women’s empowerment and children's welfare is evident in her tireless advocacy for breast cancer awareness, youth skill development, and financial independence for women. With a passion for addressing societal challenges, Nighat uses her platform to shine a light on overlooked and critical issues. Her award-winning short film “Darya Kay Iss Paar” gained global recognition for its raw and artistic portrayal of suicide in Northern Pakistan, raising awareness about mental health. Continuing her mission to drive social change, her latest feature, “Gunjal,” tackles the urgent global issue of child labor, inspired by the true story of Pakistani hero Iqbal Masih.
