Founded in 2018 by producer and TEDx speaker Nighat Akbar Shah, ADUR Productions creates feature films, documentaries, and short films that spotlight pressing social issues. From the critically acclaimed Urdu-language feature Gunjal to the award-winning Darya Kay Iss Paar, our work has been recognized at international film festivals including NYCIFF, Buffalo International Film Festival, and the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival. We amplify vulnerable voices through cinema, driving awareness and inspiring positive societal change.
Nighat Akbar Shah
CEO / Executive Producer
With a passion for addressing societal challenges, Nighat uses her platform to shine a light on overlooked and critical issues, inspiring meaningful change through the power of media and entertainment.
Her notable works include "Darya Kay Iss Paar" — an award-winning short film addressing mental health and suicide in Northern Pakistan — and "Gunjal", a powerful feature film examining child labor, inspired by the story of Iqbal Masih. Critics have praised her work as "courageous" and "thought-provoking", recognizing her ability to tackle difficult subjects with sensitivity and impact.
Under her leadership, ADUR Productions has become synonymous with quality Pakistani cinema that challenges norms and drives social change. The name ADUR reflects the core values that guide our work: Art, Diversity, Unity, and Responsibility.
Sultan R. Shah
Director & Content Head
His notable work includes "64 Cups" — a psychological thriller that follows a student concealing a hit-and-run accident. The film masterfully examines themes of guilt, fear, and morality, showcasing Sultan's talent for creating tension-filled narratives that resonate long after the credits roll.
As Content Head at ADUR Productions, Sultan brings a fresh perspective to the company's creative vision, ensuring each project maintains the high standards of storytelling and social relevance that define the ADUR brand.
